We would like to keep a data base of any incidents that take place and would appreciate it if these could advise us on a weekly basis. We will then forward to our local representative of the Community Police Forum who will forward the statistics to the local police station.

The communication network (as mentioned above) has already been established by means of a sms system. Thomas Muller is responsible for this system and anyone interested may contact him on 082 377 6995 or Dicky at 083 285 2900. The system costs R25-00 per cell phone and we will be advised when one needs to "top it up".

A Section 21 (non profit organization) has been registered and this has been named Garsfontein Proper Residents Association (GPRA). It is compulsory to join this organization when joining the visible patrol system. Each household will be charged R50-00 p.a. which will be increased each year according to the CPIX. This money will be kept in the bank account of GPRA until such time as it will be needed to benefit the community.

Please note that you may join either the sms system or the GPRA without joining the Street Patrol. One of the arguments for joining the Street Patrol is the fact that the security guards may not enter the premises of a "non-A.S.S.member".
